Back from Warped! It was great! Well, Alkaline Trio sucked, but it was more my fault that they sucked, cuz I've been refusing to listen to Good Mourning, and they played mostly off of that, so yeah. Bored a little, but not too bad. Watched New Found Glory, too. Very cool. I enjoy New Found Glory very much. They played off of Sticks and Stones and New Found Glory, so I had a great time during that. They also played off Catalyst, which I am not as familiar with, but being as how I'm a slacker, that should be understandable.
Now for the new bands. We listened to Staring Back when we got there, a very good band. I bought the cd, overpriced, but hopefully worth it. I say overpriced, because, you know, they are supposedly this no-name band, so what the hell, you know? But whatever, hopefully, we'll be rocking out pretty soon.
And on to 12 Summers Old. Oh my goodness. Let's talk about the cuteness factor first of all. The singer, totally cute. And the keyboard player/singer, totally adorable as well. But guess who got to HUG this hot as hell "cute as shit" lead singer? That would be me!!!! I donated a dollar to the porn fund, so he gave me a hug. I love no-name bands. They were set up by the Alkaline Trio stage, so when Alkaline announced that their last song was going to suck, I told Jessica that I was going to listen to their cd, like they had begged me to before Alkaline started. Turns out, they're pretty fucking good. I'd compare them to Ataris. They're based in St. Louis-ish. Actually inside of Illinois, but whatever, right? I'd totally drive down to see their show, so Anna, we could get a hookup!
Also talked to the members of D.O.R.K. They were very cool. They had a bullhorn, which attracted me to them. You see, we came in by them, and Big D and the Kids Table, which is what attracted Jessica, but not me. I love a man and a bullhorn. So I was drawn in, and lo and behold, these are the folks that have the sayings, "Rock Out With Your Cock Out!" Hell Yeah! http://www.wearedork.com to see what they're all about. I listened to their cd, but I didn't think it was buyable based on listening to a cover of "I Think We're Alone Now," but then again, I don't think you should buy into a band that is a cover band, either. Original material is good, too.
But yeah, it was very cool. I had lots of fun. I stayed and listened to 12 Summers Old after I found out that they were playing not too long after Alkaline Trio ended. I would have liked to listen to Flogging Molly and Sugarcult, but I'm seriously getting too old for this shit! My whole body is aching, my hips, my back, my neck! It's nuts.
I also purchased Ashlee Simpson's debut album, Autbiography. I have to admit, it's a very good album, and I'm very pleased that I bought it. I haven't gotten a chance to listen to the whole thing, probably only about half of it, but from what I've heard, I'd give it about 3.5 stars out of 5. I can't think of anything I'd give 5 stars at this moment, so that's pretty damn good. I recommend everyone go out and buy Ashlee Simpson's album!
Wrapping everything up. Am very excited about Warped and all, but am also getting very tired. Not too much sleep last night, so I should probably call it a night pretty soon.
Thinking - "There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough."
